7 things to do in this Tuesday (06/09) in Rio

Tomorrow (07/09) is the Independence Day in Brazil and most people won’t work. So tonight (06/09) is a good day for going out, and here you can find 7 suggestions of things to do in Rio.

Forró de Rabeca at Bar do Nanam

The Forró (brazilian typical kind of music) that is already a tradition of Rua do Ouvidor at Thursdays is going to make a special edition in this Tuesday at Bar do Nanam, close to Praça Tiradentes.

Never been there?

To put on the map, the address is Rua Imperatriz Leopoldina. And here’s a hint: this is becoming a huge meeting point, with a cool vibe, cheap beer and good music! I was there  last week and in the middle of the samba, at 03:00 a.m, suddenly a Carnival bloco came from nowhere! <3

– O Menor Festival de Jazz do mundo (The smallest Jazz festival in the world)

Linda!

Jazz da Kombi is organising this festival FOR FREE, with 5 jazz groups playing in two stages of our beloved Fundição Progresso, in Lapa (Rua dos Arcos, 24). Starting from 08:30 p.m.

-> Check out more tips of what do to (or not) in Lapa, before and after the festival,  here.

– AcaraJazZ

Wow, more Jazz!

For free, at Largo São Francisco da Prainha (Downtown, next to Praça Mauá/ Olympic Boulevard), starting from 06:00 p.m.

largo sao francisco da prainha

As the name suggests, it will have jazz and acarajé (typical brazilian food, from Bahia). 😛

 – Forró da Gafieira Estudantina

Every Tuesday, one of the best forrós in town.

Arrive early, because at 09:00 p.m they offer a big class of forró!

Women for free until 08:59 p.m., until 11:00 p.m, everybody pays R$15,00 and after 11:00 p.m is R$20,00.

– Bebete Vambora e Cadê Tereza no Gafieira Elite

Another classic of the alternative nightscene in Rio, the MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) parties at Gafieira Elite (Rua Frei Caneca, 04, Centro) are also a good option. Two big parties of this kind gather for the first time, so you dance a lot to the sound of great brazilian artists, such as Caetano Veloso, Jorge Ben, Tim Maia, and many others.  They also play international rock songs and the beer inside is sold in a fair price!

Kkkkkkkkk

Oh, and Gafieira has a huge wall, full of beautiful pictures of icons of both Brazilian and International music. Take your picture too <3  If you put in Instagram, use the hashtag #iminrio para eu poder ver e curtir? 😀

OBS: the surroundings of Gafieira are kind of creepy at night. Share a taxi/Uber with your friends, ok? 🙂

– Dobradinha na Fosfobox

It seems to be good!

I went to this party once, two years ago. I remember enjoying it, but since then I never went again. I’m just saying that because, for me, recommendations are really serious stuff, and I’d be very sad to suggest you something that is not nice.  I know that taste is a personal thing, but I’m always really thoughtful when I’m making the schedule posts. But, if you go, please tell me how it went? This is a way of me to keep up with everything, without being onipresent. Hahaha.

That said, let’s move on. Dobradinha plays mostly pop/rock, more alternative, but also funk (the brazilian one) and other genres, according to the producers of the party. And Fosfobox (Rua Siqueira Campos, 143, Copacabana) is a two-floor house, with a good structure and really close to the Subway.

From what I’ve seen, the advance tickets are sold out! At the door, is R$ 35,00 until 01:00 a.m and R$ 40,00 after 01:00, if you have your name in the list (put in the wall of the event).

– Espaço Rampa – 4 years

It seems to be good!

6 DJ’s and the promise to play a little bit of everything (Pop, Rock, Indie, 90′, Trap, Funk and Hip-Hop). One of the DJ’s is from the Festa Bagaceira, which have the proposal of playing those old and cheesy songs, but that everyone knows how to sing and loves it, such as Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls and many others. There will be also a lot of old brazilian songs that you will probably not know the lyrics, but you should have fun anyway!

The other DJ’s from the parties Fofoca, Boho, Dbob and Luv, I admit I don’t know, that’s I why I said it only seems to be good.

The place is great, because there is open-air space and a  beautiful view to the Guanabara Bay. They will offer free boat service to enjoy it the most. And a important thing: open bar of beer until 12:30 a.m.

Adresss: Avenida Repórter Nestor Moreira, 42, Botafogo.

R$ 35,00 until 12:00 a.m, R$ 40,00 from 12:00 a.m until 2:00 a.m. Other details at the event

So? What’s your choice?
