The forró (typical brazilian genre), which has already entered the weekly schedule of the city, starts at 09:00 p.m and goes till dawn with DJs in between.

FRIDAY, 09/09

1. Labirinto Party and Biltre at The Maze

the maze rio

One of my favorite places in Rio! The picture helps to understand why.

Friends list (in the FB event) R$15 until 11 p.m and after, R$25. Starts from 10pm.

* The Maze takes place in Tavares Bastos community, in Catete. It is a very safe community, but its worth to point out. To go up, take the vans that leaves from the corner of Tavares Bastos Street and Street Bento Lisboa, very close to the Catete metro station. To come down, it is possible to go by foot.

2. Sotaque Carregado Festival

The festival will welcome Vulcão Erupçado, a forró group (typical brazilian kind of music) and Noites do Norte, group of typical genres of the North region of Brazil. Free entrance!

From 5pm to 10pm! After the festival, you can stay at Praça Tiradentes, in the Rua Imperatriz Leopoldina, which is becoming a great nightpoint, or you can walk to Lapa (less than 10 min away).

CRAB (Praça Tiradentes, 67, Centro – Downtown).

Festa Noites Tropicais

For free, and at the streets! In the brand new Praça Marechal Âncora, next to Praça XV (closest Subway station: Carioca).  From 04:00 p.m to 12:00 a.m.

Samba dos Guimarães in Santa Teresa

Samba dos Guimarães is already a classic of Saturdays in Rio, as we needed a reason to go visit the most charming neighborhood of Rio.

Where? Mercado das Pulgas (Flea Market) in Largo dos Guimaraes (Rua Almirante Alexandrino, 501).
The best way to get there is by going to the subway station of Glória and from there take a taxi/Uber to Santa Teresa.

Prices: List friend until 8pm: R$ 15 (names on the event wall)
List friend after 8pm: R$ 20 (women), R$ 25 (men), R$ 30 without list

It starts early (07:00 pm) and goes up to 01:00 am.

SUNDAY, 11/09

1. O Cluster, from 1 p.m to 9 p.m

I love the Cluster! They’re now at Casa da Glória (Ladeira da Glória, 98), in a very cool space!

A line-up with 5 DJ’s, typical food tents from Colômbia, Venezuela, Síria and Nigéria, exposition and exhbition of a movie.  The event is free, but they may ask for contributions which will be donated for ONG’s related to protection and help to refugees.

2. Transa criativa no Olho da Rua

Dude, how could I define this place? It’s a cultural and artistic center, which presents expositions, workshops and much more. At the weekends, including Thursdays, they throw happy hours with DJ’s and sometimes a special event. This Sunday, it’s Transa Criativa, with music by DJ Túlio Baía (Festa Tupiniquim), expositions and artistical interventions! Go with your mind opened!

3. Jazz no Morro

Jazz with this view. It can’t be bad!

From 3 pm to 11:30 p.m., in Gilda no Cantagalo. Prices: R$15 until  04:00 p.m, R$20 birthday lists, R$25 friends list (in the event) and R$35 regular price.

* As the name suggests, it’s a bar in Morro do Cantagalo, Copacabana. To get there, the best thing is to take a van or moto-cab, in the corner of Rua Saint Roman with Sá Ferreira. The closest subway station is General Osório (take the exit to Sá Ferreira and keep walking as you were going to the beach).

4. Samba do Humaitá

It’s also on my list, but I wasn’t able to go yet! Seems good! From 04:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Where? In the outside area of a beautiful house in Humaitá (Rua São Clemente, 446). If it rains, the event will be canceled. It’s better to check in their event in the day because the weather is a little weird.

Friends list (in the Facebook event) until 05pm: R$15 and after, R$20 (women) e R$30 (men).

5. Domingo Beatles no Jungle Garden Pub

I did not find the Facebook event, but I saw it in the schedule of their page. The entrance is R$15,00 and its a live show of a Beatles tribute band. <3

About the place:  Jungle Garden Pub (Rua Martins Ferreira, 48, Botafogo) is a big house, with a lot of open-air space. It’s very pleasant and with a good menu of food and beverages.
